Blogger... Its been fun.
Well so its official. I have now moved to Wordpress. I have thrown away the "Lover By Blood" name for now. There's a lot that will most likely be changing with the new blog in the next few weeks. I just bought CSS Web Design for Dummies and plan to learn myself some css coding. The new url is: http://loverbyblood.wordpress.com ... I also hope to change that but I haven't figured out how to yet. That's the beauty of having patient friends on Wordpress. They can help me :)
So for now, get used to going here. And if you want to RSS the new site, click the RSS icon in your url bar. If you have a hard time understanding that, click here.
I will let you know if the url changes again.
Blogger... its been fun.

Today
I'm at work from 12 to 7pm. Going to do a workshop this evening called "Switching." Its free from 5-6. Its for those who are used to the PC environment and want to learn more about Mac OS X Tiger. Good times.
I bought and shipped an iPod case for Chris Hubbs in Iowa. Its an awesome case.
Going to work on some song reviews this evening.
Going to start reading Palestine - Peace Not Apartheid by Jimmy Carter. I read the first 10 pages about the summary of Israel's history and it was amazing. From Abraham to the current time. Very short and very informative (And very Biblical). I am excited.
I probably will have to rearrange the office too. Janelle wants to set up my old graphing art table to do some of her homework on. So we'll probably do that tonight.
So yeah. Fun stuff.

The Ball Game
Over at AndrewOsenga.net, Chris Hubbs and myself are planning to write reviews to each song from Andy's new record Letters to the Editor, Vol. 1. We decided to write one each week day starting tomorrow. There are six songs, so the last review will be up next Monday. Chris picked three songs, and I picked the other three. And tomorrow you will get the first review by Chris on the song Wanted. My first review is for the song The Ball Game. I just got done writing it and I think you'll like it.
But I think you'll like the song even more.
So I wanted you guys to have the opportunity to listen to The Ball Game Before my review goes up on Tuesday. I know some of you have actually downloaded the record, so you've probably already heard it. But for those of you who haven't downloaded yet, or haven't been able to, Here is The Ball Game:
The Ball Game
Andrew Osenga - From Letters to the Editor, Vol. 1
I was always a sideline player
If I even made the team
But me and that ball in the driveway
Were the best of friends
I watched my brother grow up
To be over six feet tall
Just when he had the chance
He got bored and put down the ball
But I never got bored
No, I just gave up
I knew it was never going to happen
So I stopped
And now each Saturday
Me and some other guys play
And talk of how good we were
When we were young
[Chorus]
This is not a ball game
It’s not a school play
It’s not a book that lets you bend a page
This is the one life
These are the passing days
I don’t want to look back and see I’ve wasted
Mark and I started a band in high school
Cause we thought it might make us cool
We did Tom Petty and the Eagles
James Taylor and U2
We got a record deal, but you know how that went
The records didn’t sell and the money got spent
And we were five guys now
Grown up, couldn’t pay the rent
And I kept playing guitar
But somewhere I just gave up
I knew it was never going to happen
So I guess I stopped
But I stayed close enough to the things I want
And my good friends tell me that’s not enough
And I’m starting to think they might be right
And I’ve got children and bills to pay
So show me what to hold and what is in the way
--And if you still haven't downloaded the record, click here to do so. Or, if you aren't able to download the record, please let me know and I'll email it to you or even burn you a copy if you'd like! If you are interested in this, email me at loverbyblood@gmail.com
Hope you enjoyed it! Look for the first review tomorrow at AndrewOsenga.net!
Thanks guys,

New in Photobooth
Many of you are familiar with the Apple program 'Photobooth.' Since new macs come with a built in camera, Photobooth allows you to take pictures with cool and funny affects.
And, since I just installed the new Operating System, Leopard, I noticed that Photobooth came with some new features. Including: Video
I'm sorry. I just couldn't help myself.

The Man. A Definition of Examples.
In our world we have a string of popular phrases that mean something different than their initial sound. "Radical Dude!" is an example that really means, "That affects fundamental nature, farm-visiting city-dweller!" And over the years there have been many many examples of evolving slang terminology. One that came into being about 10 years ago is, "You are the man!" And this phrase has become an important part of my own vocabulary.
The Man Can also refer to a higher power displaying force or rules to the lower. This post will not be referring to that definition. However it is a phrase I've used recently. However, I would like to take the time this evening to point out the examples of The Man in my life. For me, it is a phrase of great affection. And I give it to those who truly deserve it. I plan to list these men now.
Sean Higgins is The Man. The ultimate example of a true, Godly man to me.
Micah Lugg is The Man. My best friend of 5 1/2 years, this guy is maturing to be more like Christ every single day, and I wish I was more like him.
Clyde Silla is The Man. Though he may deny it and say that I have no idea, this man has been used by God to show me how to grow up successfully when I've already made a mess of things.
Kramer Kevin is The Man. Growing into a fine, independent young man, this goofball of a person is showing that he is his own person, but believes that apart from Christ, is no one.
Tony Kevin Sr. is The Man. He probably won't read this, but my dad is the best and smartest dude on the planet. Seriously, what the heck.
Andrew Osenga is The Man. This jack-of-all trades is doing what I want to do. He is successfully raising a beautiful family, that he loves, while making music for the glory of God.
--Now here's a list with some/if any minor details--
-David Zimmer is The Man.
-David Giordano is The Man.
-James Barnts is The Man (hardest worker I know).
-Jesse Martin is The Man (So creative)
-Pastor Zimmer is The Man.
-Derek Webb is The Man.
-Steven Russell is The Man (with a new mac).
-Chris Hubbs is The Man.
-Geof Morris is The Man (I don't know how he does it, but he does it, and does it well).
-Brannon McAllister is The Man
-Demitri Feredinos is The Man (I love you brother).
-Tim Jahn is The Man.
-Brenden Gill is The Man.
There are more, I'm sure. But these are the ones that come first to mind. Please check out there links and learn about them. They are some killer friends.

How Many of You Downloaded?
Okay, So I'm sure you noticed the threat I posed to you all... Well... more of a strong demand, really. Talking about Andy Osenga's new record, I said, "This is too good an opportunity to pass up. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're not into Andy's sound. Get the record NOW." That was all in love. But, I want to make sure you actually went and downloaded the record. Andy isn't making much profit on this one since he's releasing it for free with the option to donate to him via PayPal, so I'm really trying to spread the word. Like, I called Christianity Today Magazine today to let them know about the record. I talked to a really nice guy who, apparently, had already been emailed from another Andylander (Osenga Blog Reader) about the record. So the point is spreading the word.
So here I am again, asking you to download the record, burn it for your friends, and play it at parties.
So again, you can go to his blog and download the record...
Or, if you really don't want to click too much, you can download it here:
Go go go!!!

Letters to the Editor

So.
I'm pretty excited.
Recently (and I don't think I've talked about this here), Andy Osenga has been working on a solo summer record. He has been updating a little as he went on his blog. Its really cool because he decided to get all of his ideas and inspiration for the record from his blog readers. You could comment with an idea or a story, send him emails with stories or pictures... or hats... whatever. He wanted to hear from his readers.
Also, about a week ago, Andy invented something he calls 'Webground Vocals.' You are all familiar with background vocals in a song, well Webground Vocals is where you send in your own background vocals. Andy put a link up to download a guitar track and his two vocal tracks, and if you have recording software (like Garageband) you can listen to his tracks while recording your own. And then you send them back in to him. Of course, I could not pass up the opportunity. I recorded mine, sent them in, and waited to see the next step results.
So today. Today Andy surprised us with the finished product of the new Record Letters to the Editor - Vol. 1 Complete with six tracks, this record is acoustically beautiful. And the best part about it... is that its free. He put a link on his blog where you can just click, and download. He also has a PayPal link for those who wish to donate some money to help out with the recording of the record.
So now here I am, pleading with you to leave my blog, go to Andy's, and download the record. And if you feel lead, please donate some money. I plan to as soon as this Friday rolls around in all her beauty and paychecks.
So go. Here's a direct link to the post about the new record: THIS ONE!
This is too good an opportunity to pass up. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're not into Andy's sound. Get the record NOW.
A little taste:
P.S. It also comes with a fun digital booklet :)

Stay Humble, Humble, Humble...
I've been watching this guy for two years. I bought his EP and have always been in love with his completely unique, artistic sound. He is getting ready to release his first full record Windows Facing West. Get ready to hear Tyler James' name a lot...
